EFF leader Julius Malema says he won’t be shaken by U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for his arrest, describing the move as a veiled attempt to silence his revolutionary voice. Speaking to supporters at a rally in Ward 16, Koppies, Free State, on Africa Day, Malema made it clear he isn’t afraid.
“Well, I’m not fearful. As a revolutionary, part of being killed is one of those honours you must wear with pride, but I’m not going to be reckless,” Malema said.

He accused Trump of inciting violence under the guise of justice: “When he says to Ramaphosa, ‘Why is this man not in jail? Why are you not arresting this man?’ he simply means, ‘Why are you not killing this man?’ Because this man wants to kill white people. That’s what he believes.”

Malema added, “Imperialism, especially the USA, makes such remarks meaning something different… I will never be intimidated by Donald Trump. That nonsense that Trump did in America, he will never do that nonsense in my presence because I will confront him here and there, with the facts.”

Tensions Flare During Ramaphosa-Trump Bilateral
During a high-stakes bilateral meeting last week, Trump blindsided President Cyril Ramaphosa by presenting footage of Malema chanting “Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer”—a move intended to frame the EFF leader as a threat to white South Africans.
What started as diplomatic talks quickly turned into an ambush. Trump demanded to know why Malema had not been arrested, using the moment to boost his narrative of “white genocide” in South Africa.
Malema criticised Ramaphosa for not defending South Africa’s constitutional rights—especially the right to freedom of speech. “I will never stop singing a song that Winnie Mandela sang. That would be a betrayal to the struggle of our people,” Malema declared.
Ramaphosa, responding after the incident, said the matter would be addressed “in due course,” during a speech at the funeral of ANC Women’s League deputy president Lungi Mnganga-Gcabashe.

EFF Won’t Unite with Zuma’s MK Party: “They Exist to Destroy Us”
Malema didn’t hold back when addressing speculation about a possible political alliance between the EFF and former president Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party.
“We’ll never unite with Zuma who wants to kill the EFF,” Malema stated. “We must never be tempted to unite with the agents who want to destroy the EFF.”

He also took aim at the creation of the MK party itself, calling it a betrayal of black unity. “If Zuma wants the unity of black people, why did he form MK when there was EFF? Because you are already dividing people. Join the existing organisation that pursues the same agenda, which is the EFF.”
Malema labelled MK a “spaza shop” formed for Zuma’s personal interests: “Zuma is about himself and about his family, that’s why he went to form that spaza shop.”
The EFF leader also warned of infiltration within his own party, claiming that “double agents” had been turned ahead of the party’s national elective conference in December. The EFF has recently seen a wave of defections, including senior figures like Floyd Shivambu, Mzwanele Manyi, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, and Dali Mpofu—all of whom have crossed over to Zuma’s MK party.
