Dubai’s future-forward ambitions were firmly in focus this weekend as HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE met with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk to discuss innovation, collaboration and the power of technology.
Welcoming Elon Musk – the CEO of X, SpaceX, Tesla and Starlink to his majlis in Nad Al Sheba, Sheikh Hamdan took to Instagram to share a series of friendly photos of the meeting, telling his 17.2 million followers that the two discussed “space, technology and humanity.”

Dubai and the UAE’s growing status as global hubs for technology and innovation was a key talking point. In the conversation, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted how forward-looking legislation, flexible regulatory frameworks and early adoption of new technologies have helped attract world-class talent, ideas and investment.

The meeting also underscored the role of advanced digital infrastructure in supporting the UAE’s fast-growing digital economy. Dubai’s ambitious strategies around artificial intelligence and future technologies were reviewed, reflecting an integrated approach designed to improve quality of life, boost economic competitiveness and set new global benchmarks.

Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed that the UAE and Dubai remain committed to inspiring innovation through strong governance, global collaboration and sustained investment in human capital. This approach continues to empower the country’s thriving technology ecosystem while supporting a more sustainable and prosperous future for residents and visitors alike.
Elon Musk, for his part, praised the UAE’s visionary leadership and the impressive progress it has made across technology, artificial intelligence and space exploration, expressing his best wishes for the nation’s continued success.
During his UAE visit, Elon Musk also paid a visit to UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. As per state news agency wam, the two leaders discussed a range of shared interests, including the importance of international partnerships in advanced technology and artificial intelligence and how these innovations can be harnessed to improve quality of life and support global progress.
