A judge in Reno, Nevada, announced that she will leave the bench after a temporary protective order for stalking was filed against her last week.
According to court records, the order was filed against Washoe County, Nevada, Judge Bridget Robb on Jan. 12 and granted on Jan. 16, KRNV reports.
The allegations, which were reported in another KRNV article Thursday, were made by a local attorney who said in court records the judge engaged in “willful, repeated and patterned” stalking behavior that lasted more than a year. They include alleged encounters at residences, workplaces and other locations, such as a fitness studio that the attorney attended.
Multiple Ring camera videos were submitted with the request for the temporary protective order, KRNV also reports. The media outlet did not name the alleged victim.
Robb, who serves in Department 13 of the Second Judicial District Court, announced Thursday that she would retire, effective Feb. 6.
She said in a statement published by KRNV stepping away is “in the best interest of the court, my family and the community.”
Second Judicial District Court Chief Judge Egan Walker had temporarily removed Robb from all active cases and assignments after the approval of the temporary protective order, KRNV reports. A spokesperson for the Second Judicial District Court told KRNV that the court is conducting its own internal investigation.
No criminal charges have been filed against Robb, KRNV reports. The next hearing in the case involving the temporary protective order is scheduled for Feb. 13.
Robb was appointed to the bench in 2006. She previously was the managing shareholder of Beesley, Peck & Matteoni.
