The expansion of Jumeirah Beach 1 is now complete, delivering 50% more beach space and a fully upgraded coastal experience
Good news for sunrise swimmers, casual strollers and anyone who loves a quieter stretch of sand.. The neighbourhood favourite has officially reopened following a major development project led by Dubai Municipality, transforming it into a modern, integrated beach while keeping the relaxed feel that regulars rave about.
Sheikh Hamdan reviews the project
Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum previously visited the site to review progress during the final stages of the works.
In a post shared on X, he said:
“I reviewed the Jumeirah Beach 1 development project by Dubai Municipality, part of the plan to upgrade public beach infrastructure. Aligned with the Quality of Life 2033 strategy and the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, the project expands the beach area by 50% and is 95% complete, creating a modern, integrated beach that enhances quality of life, offers top experiences for all, and reflects Dubai’s vision for its beaches to be the best and most beautiful in the world.”
Now fully complete, the project forms part of the wider Quality of Life 2033 strategy and Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, both focused on enhancing public spaces across the city.
What’s new at Jumeirah Beach 1
The upgrade goes well beyond extra sand. You can can now enjoy newly laid walking, jogging and cycling tracks designed for smooth, safe movement along the shoreline. There are also recreational and sports facilities catering to all ages, plus integrated leisure areas ideal for families and groups of friends planning a full beach day.
The layout feels more organised, with improved access points and seating areas.
Boosting tourism and local investment
The project has also introduced more than 15 investment opportunities, aimed at strengthening local businesses and further enhancing Dubai’s beach tourism offering.
