Kazakhstan, Kenya Deepen Economic Partnership With New Plans for Trade and Investment

Kazakhstan and Kenya have agreed to expand cooperation across key sectors of their economies, including mining, banking, transport and logistics, tourism, agriculture, and investment, as the two countries move to strengthen bilateral ties.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Kenya Barlybay Sadykov held talks with Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry, Lee Kinyanjui, to advance agreements reached during Kenyan President William Ruto’s state visit to Kazakhstan in May, The Caspian Post reports
Representatives of Kazakhstan’s quasi-public and financial institutions joined officials from relevant Kenyan government agencies to discuss launching joint ventures, boosting investment cooperation, and expanding access for Kazakh products to the Kenyan market.
During the visit, the Kazakh delegation toured the Port of Mombasa, the Nairobi Inland Container Terminal-Kenya’s largest dry port-and local tea and coffee plantations. The discussions also explored plans to establish a tea and coffee hub and leverage Kenya’s port infrastructure to support Kazakhstan’s trade and logistics operations in Africa.
Kenyan officials praised Kazakhstan’s economic development and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic cooperation with Astana.
The two sides agreed to accelerate collaboration by preparing feasibility studies for joint projects, developing implementation roadmaps for agreements reached at the highest political level, and organizing reciprocal expert visits to advance priority initiatives.
