We’ve been back at work for exactly one month and I’m pretty sure most of us are ready to enter the Mega Millions with the hope of going straight back on holiday! While that’s not certain, let’s talk about some fun, luxury experiences that you can plan for your next break from work in the Mother City.

Stay at the One&Only Cape Town Resort

If you’ve got a limitless budget in Cape Town, start your stay here. It is the most luxurious resort in the city with fantastic views. Not to mention that it’s home to the only Nobu in South Africa. At the One & Only Cape Town, you will be staying at the height of luxury as well as being right in the centre of the Waterfront — which means you’ll be just a stone’s throw away from the other luxury experiences.

The hotel is includes a luxury spa, positioned on a little island alongside the exquisitely clean sea water which is purified directly from the Atlantic before circulating the hotel. Enjoy Supping or kayaking along the hotel’s canals before retiring to the Vista bar for a glass of champagne before lunch.

    Visit Antarctica with Ellerman House

Ellerman House is one of Cape Town’s most exclusive boutique hotel and offers guests the opportunity to visit Antartica through its collaboration with White Desert. Stay at the hotel before and after boarding a private jet to visit Earth’s southernmost continent for a highly exclusive, one-of-a-kind luxury travel experience.

    Cape Winelands

South Africa has some fantastic wines, and some of the best come from the Cape Winelands. Yes, you’ll need to head outside the Cape Town city bowl for this luxury experience, but can you think of anything more delightful than sipping wines in the beautiful countryside?

We recommend the Leeu Passant Winery in Franschhoek for a small and exclusive tasting room on a property with perfectly curated gardens. Alternatively, try Oldenburg up in the Banhoek Valley. Views are unmatched as well as the exceptional service.

Franschhoek is also known for it’s cuisine to be sure to book at some of the well loved restaurants while visiting.

    Private Helicopter Tour

The Atlantic seaboard is peppered with helicopters as visitors to Cape Town fly around Signal Hill, Lion’s Head, Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles to take in the extraordinary views. Cape Town looks spectacular from the air, and there are plenty of charter helicopter tours around the area. Rates start from around R4000 per person for a 15 minute trip (£180) and extend to longer journey’s depending on the request. For a maximum trip, look to either fly to the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa for lunch or Groot Constantia for wine tasting.

    Charter a Private Yacht

Frolicking in Camps Bay on a yacht is a really popular way to spend a summer afternoon in Cape Town. So, why not charter a yacht in Cape Town and sail up and down the coastline to access the best beaches? You’ll also get to see Cape Town from a unique perspective as well as enjoy the day with your family and friends.

    Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve

Inverdoorn is a private game reserve positioned 2.5 hours outside Cape Town and offers the opportunity for guests to view the big 5 while visiting the Western Cape. Gauteng (Joburg) is the traditional bush scape known for it’s game viewing, however, Inverdoorn is an excellent alternative for those not making it up country. There are chalets, suites and rooms available to suit various family needs.

    Hot Air Balloon

If you’ve exhausted the luxury helicopter tours, how about spicing things up? One of the best things to do around Cape Town, particularly the Cape Winelands, is to have a hot air balloon adventure.

Take to the skies and bask in the glory of South Africa’s natural beauty. While many of the hot air balloon tours are designed for groups of people, it is also possible to invest a little more and go for a private tour.

    Visiting Cape Town

This is just a small smattering of the luxury experiences you can get in Cape Town with a limitless budget. Don’t forget, there are plenty of restaurants, exclusive clubs, events, and more to attend. We’re sure you’ll have fun in one of the best cities in the world.
