South African football fans are counting down the minutes until the next installment for one of the most awaited fixtures of the season, the Soweto derby, on Saturday, 3 May at the FNB Stadium.

    Kick-off is set for 15:00.

The iconic rivalry between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates ignites once again, bringing with it the rich history and fierce competition that fans have come to love.

The 58th league match between the two giants since the PSL era kicked off in the 1996/97 season, is sold out, a testament to its importance.

In the 57 league matches to date, 23 have ended in draws, while Kaizer Chiefs have emerged victorious on 18 occasions with Orlando Pirates triumphing 16 times.

Incredibly, the last 11 Soweto derby league matches have seen a winner.

The team line-ups will be displayed below as soon as they are announced.

As the teams prepare for kick-off on Saturday, both are acutely aware of what is on the line.

For Amakhosi, each point is critical as they look to finish the season inside the top eight and secure a spot in next season’s MTN8 tournament.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are aiming to inch closer to the coveted top spot, making this derby a high-stakes affair for both sides.

The match will be screened live on SuperSport PSL Channel 202 on DStv and SABC 1.
