Yas Bay hosts free family events every Sunday with music bingo, games and prizes

The first Sunday of the new year deserves better than scrolling on the couch. Free family events and Yas Bay Waterfront agrees. This January, it is bringing back Sunday Funday, and it is exactly the kind of low effort, high reward plan parents love and kids actually get excited about.

Set against the water at Etihad Arena Plaza, Sunday Funday turns the late afternoon into a playful, slightly chaotic, very joyful family hangout. There will be music bingo, games and dancing. Abu Dhabi favourites Dylan and Dillon lead the charge, working the crowd and keeping the energy up with help from a few familiar faces.

It runs every Sunday in January from 4pm to 6pm, which feels like the sweet spot. Late enough for a lazy morning. Early enough to still make dinner plans after. There are interactive games, prizes, balloon artists and plenty of reasons for kids to burn off that last bit of weekend energy.

The best part is that it does not feel forced. No awkward participation. No hard sell. Just a genuinely fun way to spend time together, tied neatly into the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026. Arrive early and make a day of it. Grab a bite, walk along the waterfront, then settle in for a couple of hours where everyone actually enjoys themselves.

And yes, it is free. You just need to register. If your New Year’s resolution includes more time with the family and less planning stress, this one ticks all the boxes.

    The details:

Location: Etihad Arena Plaza, Yas Bay Waterfront

    Time: 4pm to 6pm
