MC-Bauchemie Group has expanded its presence in East Africa by establishing MC-Bauchemie Uganda on 1 August 2026. The new Kampala-based subsidiary will initially focus on producing concrete admixtures for the local market while creating additional capacities in logistics, technical services, and warehousing. A dedicated concrete laboratory is also being set up to provide better support to local customers.
This strategic expansion reflects MC-Bauchemie’s commitment to promoting long-term growth in East Africa’s construction and infrastructure sector. The new subsidiary plans to begin sales activities in the fourth quarter of 2026. In the future, the Kampala site is expected to serve not only Uganda but also neighbouring regions.
Experienced leadership for East Africa
Graham Dean, a British manager with over 30 years of international experience in the construction chemicals and materials industry, has been appointed Managing Director of MC-Bauchemie Uganda. Dean brings extensive market knowledge and a strong network in the East African construction sector. “The establishment of MC-Bauchemie Uganda is a significant step in expanding our commitment to a dynamic growth region,” Dean stated.
Dean’s appointment aligns with MC-Bauchemie’s strategy of driving growth in Africa through experienced leadership. His past involvement in various business development projects will contribute to establishing the new subsidiary’s success.
Strategic growth in East Africa
Uganda becomes the second East African base for MC-Bauchemie following the successful launch of MC-Bauchemie Kenya in May 2026. These investments highlight the strategic importance of the region, focusing on local production capacities and enhancing technical advisory and development expertise. East Africa is considered a promising growth market due to its increasing construction and infrastructure development.
