Media accreditation for the 2026 next Commonwealth Games, to be held in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August is now open. Media are encouraged to follow the process below.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games will consist of a streamlined 10 sports programme, with team sports rugby sevens, hockey and cricket among those removed from the competition. The Scottish city came in as a late replacement for Australia’s Victoria, who were the original 2026 hosts but withdrew.
Para-sports remain included. The sports being contested at the 2026 Commonwealth Games are: Athletics and Para Athletics, Swimming and Para Swimming, Artistic Gymnastics, Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling, Netball, Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting, Boxing, Judo, Bowls and Para Bowls, and 3×3 Basketball and 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball.
The application form is open to the following groups:
- Written and online press
- Photographers and photo technicians
- Non-rights holding TV broadcasters
- Non-rights holding radio broadcasters
- Content creators
- Podcasters
Any rights holding broadcasters wishing to be accredited should contact their organisation’s accreditation liaison officer directly for further information.
Application deadline is the 24th April 2026.
