Tyira emphasised that despite the suspension, Hlophe remains part of the MKP’s Parliamentary mandate.

“It’s important to state Dr Hlophe remains a MP and a committed member of the MK Party. And as a result of these deliberations held by the national officials the President has approved the appointment of comrade Des Van Rooyen as acting party leader effective immediately in Parliament to continuity and effective leadership.
