In the same round of changes, former Eskom chief executive and MK Party Member of Parliament Brian Molefe has been appointed Treasurer General, replacing Mpiyakhe Limba. The party confirmed the developments in a statement issued on Monday.
MK Party leadership changes impact Parliament and beyond
Makhubele’s latest removal follows a similar move late last year, when she was also relieved of her duties as Chief Whip before the decision was later reversed by the party.
This time, the MK Party has thanked her for her contribution and announced that National Council of Provinces member Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi will serve as acting Chief Whip.

The reshuffle extends beyond the Parliamentary benches, signalling a wider internal reconfiguration within the organisation as it positions itself for the next phase of its political programme.

Announcing Molefe’s appointment, the MK Party highlighted his background in public administration, governance, finance and organisational leadership, noting his “proven track record” in senior roles.
According to the party, the leadership changes were made in the best interests of strengthening the organisation and advancing its political mandate, as it consolidates its structures at both Parliamentary and national levels.
