Need to move? These indoor activities in Abu Dhabi will get your heart rate up and the energy out

Sometimes you just need to move. Properly move. The kind where you sweat a little, laugh a lot and feel calmer afterwards. These indoor activities in Abu Dhabi are perfect when energy levels are high and the situation or the weather says stay inside.

The Galleria is keeping things lively with free Zumba classes twice a week. The sessions are upbeat and welcoming, whether you are a regular dancer or someone who just wants to shake off a long week at the desk. No membership required, just turn up and move.

Location: The Galleria, Al Maryah Island

Time: 9am to 10am every Tuesday and Thursday

Sometimes the simplest exercise works best. Yas Mall hosts free guided walking sessions several mornings a week, giving early risers a safe and air-conditioned space to rack up steps before the day begins. It is social, relaxed and surprisingly motivating when you have a group keeping pace.

    Location: Yas Mall

Time: 8am to 9am every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

    Air Maniax

    airmaniax

    What’s On archive

Air Maniax is designed for children who arrive with energy to spare. Inside the colourful inflatable park you will find obstacle courses, slides, tunnels, foam pits and interactive challenges that keep kids jumping, racing and climbing for hours. There is also a toddler zone for younger visitors and a multi-sports area with mini basketball and football. Parents can keep an eye on everything from the café.

Location: Yas Mall, Marina Mall, Al Jimi Mall

    Time: 8:30am to 10pm

    Cost: Dhs249

    Contact: (02) 444 2938

    Xtreme Zone

    What’s On archive

If the goal is to burn energy, Xtreme Zone delivers. The indoor activity space includes trampolines, climbing walls and bowling lanes, giving kids plenty of ways to move rather than sit still. It is loud, busy and exactly the sort of place where children can let loose for a couple of hours.

Location: The Galleria, Al Maryah Island

    Time: 10am to 10pm

    Contact: (02) 644 8893

    Pixoul Gaming

    What’s On archive

Pixoul is not your typical gaming centre. Alongside esports arenas you will find immersive virtual reality experiences that require movement, reflexes and quick reactions. Racing simulators, VR arenas and competitive games make it feel more like a high-tech playground than a traditional arcade.

    Location: Al Qana

    Time: 12pm to 1am

    Cost: From Dhs50

    Contact: (02) 418 6666

    Bounce Abu Dhabi

    What’s On archive

Wall-to-wall trampolines. Foam pits. Slam dunk lanes and dodgeball courts. Bounce Abu Dhabi is designed for one thing: letting people jump until they are completely exhausted. It is chaotic in the best way and ideal for anyone who needs to burn off serious energy.

    Location: Marina Mall, Corniche

    Time: 10am to 10pm

Cost: From around Dhs85 for a one hour session

    Contact: (04) 304 9333

    CLYMB Abu Dhabi

    What’s On archive

For something more adventurous, CLYMB Abu Dhabi offers two serious challenges. Climbers can tackle the world’s tallest indoor climbing wall, while those feeling brave can try indoor skydiving in the massive flight chamber. Both options deliver a proper adrenaline rush and a workout at the same time.

    Location: CLYMB Yas Island

Time: Friday 12pm to 10pm; Saturday to Sunday 11am to 10pm

Cost: Climbing from Dhs120; Flying from Dhs235
