The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship reaches its halfway point on Sunday morning as the MX2 class heads to the historic South African Grand Prix at Terra Topia MX Track near Johannesburg. The event marks the series’ first visit to South Africa in 18 years, with Round 11 expected to test riders on a demanding circuit featuring hard-packed terrain, elevation changes and technical jumps. The MX2 championship battle has become one of the closest in world motocross this season. KTM’s Simon Längenfelder arrives with a slim advantage atop the standings on 244 points after 10 rounds. Close behind is fellow Red Bull KTM rider Sacha Coenen with 241 points, leaving virtually no margin for error entering the second half of the season.
