Overall i have to say, a very dull match with 5 exciting moments moments; with South Africa creating 4 out of the 5. SA got two goals, and hit the woodwork twice while the super eagles had a goal mouth scuffle that looked like a threat to the SA goal for about half a second….
I hear a lot of people saying the match was an upset..but was it really?..well, the match was played in Nigeria so that makes it look like a huge victory for the south africans..secondly the super eagles had 2 weeks to prepare while bafana bafana had 3 days (definite tie breaker right??)….
Then i hear of the callibre of players ..foreign based players in the Nigerian squad. Well let’s look at those foreign based players …Alex Iwobi- the arsenal STAR who spent the second half or so of the epl season struggling to make appearances for the first team…Kelechi Iheanacho- need i say much??..the man city striker clearly not in Guardiola’s plan for city  made a few subs appearances and even much less starts 4 city  last season…next step up Mr newly wedded Ahmed Musa- the sought after cska moscow star chose  leicester city and I personally felt he made the perfect decision and he looked very sharp in his first few games for the foxes but his perfomances deteriorated and Raineri got sacked and Shakespeare clearly had no plans 4 Musa;he struggled as well to get playing time..Onazi definitely since his broken leg has not been the same energetic player….Echejile is definitely not as sharp as he used to…Ndidi quite unlike these others, is the first choice of Shakespeare at Leicester and he definitely showed match sharpness as did Moses Simon..
The players of the SA team on the other hand are first choice in their various clubs as such where definitely more match fitter than their Nigerian counterparts
In all,  the match was disappointing for the Nigerians but from concise analysis like this,  expected
What do you think… Upset or not??!?
