A leading travel agency, Dees Travels and Tours, has reinforced its commitment to innovation and strategic collaboration with the unveiling of an AI-powered travel assistant, as part of efforts to remain competitive in Nigeria’s evolving travel industry.

The managing director of the company, Daisi Olotu, disclosed this at an exclusive Travel Partners and Stakeholders Roundtable Session held in Lagos, which brought together key players across the travel value chain.

The high-level engagement provided partners with a platform to align expectations, review system updates, and explore growth opportunities amid changing industry dynamics.

Olotu described the roundtable as a deliberate gathering of trusted partners, noting that pricing volatility, system efficiency challenges, and rising customer expectations have continued to exert pressure on the travel trade.

According to him, these realities informed Dees Travels’ decision to invest in stronger systems, clearer partner structures, and innovative solutions that support long-term growth.

“The roundtable was not designed as a formal presentation but as a strategic conversation,” Olotu said. “It was an opportunity to appreciate our partners, strengthen trust, and jointly prepare for the future of the travel industry.”

He emphasised that Dees Travels remains focused on stability, innovation, and serving as a reliable engine of growth for its partners.

As part of this strategy, the company unveiled its AI-powered travel support agent, described as a personal travel assistant that partners and clients can interact with to make bookings and access travel support services.

Olotu stressed that the technology is designed to enhance speed and accuracy, rather than replace human relationships, adding that the future of travel lies in combining professional expertise with intelligent systems.

“The human element remains central to what we do. AI is here to support, not substitute, trusted relationships,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, the executive director of Dees Travels, Modebola Olotu, announced the introduction of the Sapphire Lounge at the International Airport Terminal 2, offering discounted access to Dees Travels’ clients as part of the company’s value-added services.

The session also featured discussions on the ongoing evolution of the travel industry, particularly the shift from traditional Global Distribution System (GDS) models to New Distribution Capability (NDC) frameworks, highlighting the need for agencies to adapt to emerging technologies and distribution channels.
