Orlando Pirates will face MC Alger in front of a full capacity stadium in Algeria on 1 April in the CAF Champions League.

The Buccaneers and MC Alger are set to lock horns at Stade du 5 Juillet in what will be the first leg of their quarterfinal tie.

Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 SA time.

Now, according to media reports in North Africa, MC Alger made 50 000 tickets available for this encounter on Tuesday.

And as of Wednesday afternoon, 49 500 tickets were already purchased, meaning only 500 tickets were left.

Stade du 5 Juillet takes up to 64,200 spectators, and of course, the match could not have been sold to capacity for safety reasons.

However, this still makes up a huge number of fans who will be there with the majority expected to be on the side of MC Alger.

Hosts MC Alger were in Group A of the CAF Champions League group stage alongside Yanga SC, Al-Hilal and TP Mazembe.

They could only manage to finish second and advanced to the quarterfinals in what is no doubt a huge success for them.

MC Alger won two, drew three and lost one of their six groups stage matches. They scored four and conceded two.

Pirates, on the other hand, top of Group C with four wins and two draws to their name after six matches.

The Buccaneers kissed the net 10 times and conceded four goals in the process. They kept three cleansheets.
