Cricket South Africa has announced an inbound T20 International (T20I) series between World Cup finalists, the Proteas Women and India, scheduled to take place in Durban, Johannesburg and Benoni from 17 to 27 April, 2026.

The five-match T20I series will get underway with two fixtures at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium on 17 and 19 April. The action will then move to the DP World Wanderers Stadium, which will host back-to-back matches on 22 and 25 April, before the series concludes with the fifth and final T20I at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on 27 April.

From the gsport Newsroom Archives, December 2025

This series will serve as the Proteas Women’s final official assignment ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on 12 June in England. At the global showpiece, South Africa have been drawn in Group 1 alongside Australia, Pakistan, India and two teams from the qualifiers.

CSA Director of National Teams and High Performance, Enoch Nkwe, commented: “Facing a team of India’s quality so close to a World Cup is exactly what the Proteas Women need at this stage of the preparation. It gives them an opportunity to test themselves against a top-level opponent, fine-tune their combinations and ensure they are executing their plans under pressure.

“This series will play a key role in sharpening the team’s readiness ahead of the T20 World Cup.”

CSA Chief Executive, Pholetsi Moseki, said: “We are proud to welcome India to South Africa for what promises to be a world-class T20 International series. Hosting quality international opposition on home soil is vital in showcasing the elite level of women’s cricket and in continuing to grow the game across the country.”

“These encounters bring together two of the best teams in the world and provide a fantastic opportunity for South African supporters to witness cricket of the highest standard.”
