Actress Rhea Chakraborty worked as a VJ before making her acting debut in Telugu cinema with the 2012 film Tuneega Tuneega. Later, she featured in several Bollywood movies, including Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Sonali Cable, Bank Chor, Jalebi, and Chehre.

In a candid conversation, Rhea opened up about becoming financially independent at a young age. Speaking on a leading channel, she shared that she was earning Rs 3 lakh per month as an MTV VJ by the time she was 17 or 18.

“At that time, a VJ used to get good money. I think Rs 3 lakh was my last salary. But I was also just 17-18 years old, so I really thought I was damn rich. I spent this money on fixing my face,” she shared while comparing an old picture of herself with a recent one.

Recalling her initial days in the industry, she added, “There was a time when only good-looking people were allowed to speak”. When host Tanmay Bhat asked if he should also get his face “fixed,” Rhea replied, “Everyone should get a facelift. Technology is next-level now. There is everything available…”

Meanwhile, Rhea will next be seen in The Traitors Season 2, hosted by Karan Johar. The show premieres on August 13 on Prime Video.
