    Saints Christian Schools and Steyn City School will lock horns in the first-ever Schools SA20 Showdown Final, following the conclusion of group-stage fixtures on Friday, at the Tuks Oval in Pretoria at 13h30 on Saturday, 15 March, 2025.

    The Finals will be broadcast live on SuperSport Channel 216, with the’ match going live to a large audience on SuperSport Variety 4 (channel 209), a key highlight for girls’ cricket.

    This marks the culmination of an entertaining three days of the best of South Africa’s school-level cricket, which has been highlighted by brilliant individual performances, spirited team efforts and the passionate celebration of the game of cricket.

    The girls’ Final will feature a host of South Africa U19 stars as Saints Christian School from Potchefstroom – the only unbeaten team in the competition – play Steyn City School from Johannesburg.

    The early favourites, Steyn City, surprisingly lost their final pool match against Nomandi by 16 runs. Karabo Meso (16) was yet again her team’s top run scorer as they were bundled out for a mere 44 runs thanks to some superb bowling by Enkosi Mditshwa (3/6) and Thembakazo Gegesi (3/8).

    South African women’s cricketer Meso was on fire yet again for Steyn City in the morning session, and was duly awarded the Player of the Day red cap.

    Meso (64*) struck an unbeaten half-century as her side recorded 119/2 in their allotted 20 overs against Nkowankowa. She shared a 111-run partnership over the second wicket with her fellow SA U19 teammate Diara Ramlakan (42).

    Steyn City bagged yet another bonus point with their 63-run victory over Nkowankowa of Tzaneen.

    Nkowankowa’s Shelfa Mukhari produced the best bowling performance of the tournament in her side’s 37-run victory over Dr. JL Dube. She picked up five wickets at the cost of only nine runs as Dr. JL Dube stumbled to 49 runs.
