Seabourn Quest is setting sail on a 120-day Cape to Cape World Cruise that now offers two unique embarkation options out of Cape Town.

According to travelnews.africa, his luxury voyage covers roughly 26 000 nautical miles and touching more than 50 destinations across five continents. Departing Miami early in January 2028, the full world cruise skirts legendary sea routes from Cape Horn in South America to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Along the way, it weaves through remote locales such as Antarctica, Easter Island and the Falkland Islands, giving travellers a rare blend of classic cruising and immersive exploration.

The new 38-day Africa’s West Coast, Spain & France segment, departing Cape Town on 29 March and finishing in Dover on 6 May, lets guests join the adventure mid-journey, bypassing the initial transatlantic leg from the United States. Ports of call include Namibia, Angola, São Tomé & Príncipe, Benin, Ghana, Senegal, Cabo Verde and the Canary Islands before heading into Europe.

For those seeking a shorter but equally compelling experience, Seabourn also launched a 30-day Africa’s West Coast: Cape Town to Cabo Verde itinerary. This route travels north from Cape Town along Africa’s Atlantic coastline, touching the same key destinations and concluding in Portugal after stops in Morocco and Spain.

Cruise enthusiasts will find that these Cape Town departures the destination’s growing importance in global luxury cruising. The historic rounding of the Cape of Good Hope remains both a navigational milestone and a symbolic celebration of seafaring heritage.

Adding even greater depth to the 2028 programme, Seabourn is introducing complimentary expedition-style experiences for the first time on a world cruise. An expanded 18-person expedition team will guide guests through select regions like Antarctica and the Chilean Fjords with Zodiac cruising, guided hikes and optional kayaking in select locations — all included in the fare.

The itinerary also features several maiden calls and access to more than 38 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, drawing cultural depth into this already epic voyage. To cap it off, the cruise marks the start of Seabourn’s 40th anniversary, complete with a nostalgic Panama Canal transit echoing the company’s earliest routes.
