Floyd Shivambu: Calls for Change Driven by Communities Across South Africa
Shivambu emphasized that the decision to contest all wards in the upcoming 2026 local government elections was not imposed by the party, but rather demanded by citizens across the country.
“So, the people of South Africa from all provinces have said we should constitute the movement to come and rescue them from the incompetence – from the mediocrity of governments of dysfunctional municipalities that they have been subjected to for many years.

“So, the demand is coming from the ground. We are not imposing ourselves; we are responding to the demand of the people of the ground,” Shivambu explained.
