Afrika Mayibuye Movement President, Floyd Shivambu, has officially unveiled his new political party during a press briefing in Midrand, Johannesburg. He confirmed that the movement has been formally registered with the Electoral Commission in line with the 1996 Electoral Commission Act.

“We have a certificate that acknowledges us as a political party. What that means is that Afrika Mayibuye Movement is going to be able to contest by-elections strategically.

“So, the people of South Africa from all provinces have said we should constitute the movement to come and rescue them from the incompetence – from the mediocrity of governments of dysfunctional municipalities that they have been subjected to for many years.
