A Mamelodi Sundowns attacker has completed a move to a fellow Tshwane side.

Moving to South Africa is never easy, and such was the case for Abubeker Nasir.

Nasir joined Masandawana back in 2022 after bossing things back home in Ethiopia.

The speedy winger set the PSL alight with a stunning debut goal against Kaizer Chiefs however it was all downhill from there.

    Mamelodi Sundowns attacker joins neighbours

Nasir was plagued by injury and subsequently lost his place at Mamelodi Sundowns.

He was loaned back home before being loaned to Supersport United.

Unfortunately for him, his loan at the now defunct Tshwane side was a failure as he didn’t play a single game for them due to injury.

Now, Motsepe Foundation Championship side The University of Pretoria have signed him for the remainder of the season.

“Nasir has signed with us. We have not unveiled him because he is nursing his injury. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation, and we are confident that he will start playing for us very soon,” a club official told KickOff.

According to Transfermarkt, Nasir is still on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns and he’s been loaned out to their neighbours.

    Nasir’s numbers in South Africa

Nasir made just 17 appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns since joining them. He has four goals to his name.

It’s worth noting that had it not been for injuries, those numbers could’ve looked extremely different.

Speed, skill and an eye for goal, the Ethiopian attacker can put any defence to the sword on his day.
