    Team SA were involved in two sports at the Deaflympics in Tokyo on Tuesday. There were athletes in action in track and field and in the first round of the individual golf competition.

    RESULTS SO FAR

    ATHLETICS

    Men

    High jump: Ronnie Shabalala cleared 1.80m at the first attempt but failed in three attempts at 1.83m and finished 9th in the one-off high jump final

    100m: Karabo Moeletsi qualified for the semi-finals where he finished 6th in 11.32 and didn’t progress to the final

    100m: Aobakwe Mphahlele was eliminated in the heats with a time of 12.37

    100m: Obakeng Thlako was eliminated in the heats with a time of 11.87

    Women

    100m: Nikysha Pieters was eliminated in the heats, in 13.77

    GOLF 

    Men: Charles Williams shot an opening round of 13-over-par 85 to sit in T25th, with Germany’s John Allen leading with a 66

    Women: Gail Klichowicz shot an opening round of 33-over-par 105 to sit in 20th, with India’s Diksha Dagar leading with a 68
