    The Team SA swimmers continued their raid of the medal cabinet at the African Youth Games on Monday evening. From the ten finals, six golds, three silvers and two bronzes were won by Team SA, adding another 11 medals, making their total 80. To put their haul into perspective, Team SA won 33 medals at the last edition of the African Youth Games in 2018.

    Elsewhere, Team SA tennis kicked off their campaign with wins in the boys and girls singles round of 16 ties and received a walkover victory in the mixed doubles. Beach handball was on the wrong side of the coin flip after losing to Togo on penalties (3-1)

    Swimming have their final day in the pool on Tuesday before they dive into the open water. Tennis, beach handball, weightlifting and judo are all in action.

    Girls

    50m breaststroke: 1st Chanel Veldsman (33.03), 4th Saskya Kistnasami (35.80)

    100m backstroke: SILVER! Eric Kotze 

    50m breaststroke: GOLD! Cole Martin, BRONZE! Jayden Williams 

    400m Ind Medley: GOLD! Matthew Goller

    4x100m freestyle: SILVER! Kotze, Pretorius, Snyders, Jones

    Girls 

    400m Ind Medley: GOLD! Caitlin Evans, BRONZE! Kylie de Bruyn, 

    100m backstroke: GOLD! Bailey Lambert, SILVER! Gizelle Maritz 

    50m breaststroke: GOLD! Chanel Veldsman

    4x100m freestyle: GOLD! Lambert, Maritz, Kistnasami, Mgcina
