If your plans for New Year’s include the sand, sea and stars, take note
Heading to one of these popular beaches in Dubai to catch the NYE fireworks? Take note: these beaches will be open exclusively to families.
Dubai Municipality announced that four beaches will be designated ‘families only’ from December 31, 2025 until January 1, 2026, so plan ahead and don’t get caught out. The beaches are Jumeirah Beach 2, Jumeirah Beach 3, Umm Suqeim Beach 1, and Umm Suqeim Beach.
The announcement was shared via the municipality’s official Instagram account on December 30, 2025.
Dubai welcomes the new year with 48 fireworks displays
In Dubai, the NYE countdown comes with an extra layer of sparkle: fireworks. And obviously in a city that does things big, one huge firework display isn’t going to tick the box. Instead, Dubai is rolling out 48 fireworks displays to welcome in 2026.
Some of the spots on the list include Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai, J1 Beach, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Burj Al Arab, Bluewaters Island, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Dubai Parks and Resorts, and of course, multiple spots on the Palm Jumeirah, and last, but certainly not the least, the Burj Khalifa. You can view the entire list here.
Those looking to head off to the magical celebrations of Downtown Dubai to ring in 2026 at a fancy restaurant or to catch the stunning Burj Khalifa firework display are advised to start their trips early, as there will be road closures. Find out all the details here.
The best way not to get caught out in the traffic would be to use the Dubai Metro. RTA has announced that over the New Year, service will be operating nonstop for over 43 hours, providing a convenient transport option to navigate the city’s celebrations. The service will start at 5am on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and run all the way through to 11.59pm on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
