Air France and KLM have announced the temporary suspension of several Middle Eastern flight routes, including Dubai
Travellers, take note: two European airlines have suspended flights to Dubai, as well as several other Middle Eastern cities.
Both KLM and Air France confirmed the suspension of flights to Dubai on Saturday, January 24, per Gulf News.
Cancellation of Air France flights to Dubai
Air France confirmed in a statement to AFP that it has paused flights to Dubai, citing the ‘current situation in the Middle East. The airline said that its service suspension came as it looked to ensure the “highest level of safety and security” for staff and passengers.
“Air France is monitoring the situation in real time and will provide further updates on its flight schedule,” the statement read.
Suspension of KLM flights to Dubai
Alongside Air France, KLM’s regular service to Dubai has been paused, with the Dutch airline telling local broadcaster NOS that its flights to Dubai, Dammam and Riyadh were suspended ‘until further notice’.
While the airline did not give a reason for the suspension, they said that flights would not be moving through the airspace of Iraq, Iran or several other Gulf countries.
