The petrol prices in the country for the following month are always announced on the last day of the month. If prices are set to rise, people stop by the petrol stations to fill up before the month ends. If they drop, they usually wait until the new prices come into effect before heading to the pump.

The lowest petrol price recorded this year was in February, when Super 98 cost Dhs2.45 per litre. Since then, prices have steadily increased, rising to Dhs2.59 in March, Dhs3.39 in April, Dhs3.66 in May and now Dhs3.95 in June. Meanwhile, diesel prices have fallen this month, dropping from Dhs4.69 to Dhs4.33 per litre.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Prior to that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in fuel costs.

We will be keeping our eyes peeled for any fuel price changes throughout June 2026. If we spot any fluctuations, we’ll keep you informed. Stay tuned to whatson.ae.
