The Blitzboks will face France in the Cape Town Sevens semi-finals on Sunday after hammering Great Britain in their final pool match.

The 41-7 victory saw the hosts top Pool A after comeback wins against Fiji (24-21) and New Zealand (19-14) earlier in the day.

The Blitzboks’ semi-final will kick off at 12:22pm on Sunday, followed by Argentina vs Fiji (12:44pm). The Pacific Islanders thrashed New Zealand 35-5 in their final pool match.

The defending Cape Town Sevens champions needed just over a minute to opening the scoring in the last match of the day when Donavan Don rounded off a sustained attack.

Ricardo Duarttee handed off a couple of defenders on his way to scoring the Blitzboks’ second, and tries to captain Impi Visser and David Brits made it 22-0 at the break.

Christie Grobbelaar’s five-pointer was followed by a yellow card to Joshua Radcliffe, after which Don scored his second.
