Wafaa M Rashed: Celebrating PAPERI’s Second Anniversary

Wafaa M Rashed, Chair and Founder of Pan-African PGS Education and Research Initiative, shared a post on LinkedIn:

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the celebration of PAPERI’s Second Anniversary.
Today is much more than a celebration of time.
It is a celebration of a vision, of partnerships, of shared commitment, and of the remarkable people who have believed that Africa deserves to be at the forefront of genomics and precision medicine

Two years ago, PAPERI began with a simple but ambitious dream:

To empower African researchers through education, collaboration, and scientific excellence.
We started with passion, determination, and the belief that meaningful change begins by investing in people.
Since then, together, we have built something truly inspiring

We have connected researchers across Africa.
We have delivered specialized workshops in scientific writing, clinical genomics, and genetics.
We have welcomed internationally renowned experts who generously shared their knowledge

And we have built partnerships that continue to strengthen research capacity throughout the continent

Every webinar…
Every training course…
Every participant…
Every partner…
has become part of the PAPERI story

This journey would not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers, moderators, speakers, participants, and our international partners.
To every person who has contributed to PAPERI’s growth – thank you.
Your support has transformed a vision into a growing community that now reaches researchers across Africa and beyond

Today’s celebration reflects that journey.
Together, we will hear from some of our valued partners, who have helped shape PAPERI’s story.
We will celebrate the inspiring ideas shared through the PAPERI Voices of Genomics Challenge, where African researchers have proposed innovative solutions for the future of genomics on our continent

And we will recognize the outstanding participants whose voices have inspired our community

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate two years of PAPERI, we also look ahead.
There is still much to accomplish

More collaborations to build.
More researchers to empower.
More young scientists to inspire.
More opportunities to create

Together, we will continue advancing genomics, precision medicine, and equitable healthcare across Africa

“The first year proved that the vision was possible.
The second year proved that the community is growing.
The years ahead will prove what Africa can achieve – together

Thank you for being part of this journey.
Thank you for believing in the power of collaboration.
And thank you for helping make PAPERI what it is today.
Happy Second Anniversary, PAPERI.
Together, we are shaping the future of genomics in Africa.
Welcome to our celebration
