South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced the closure of a key access gate to the West Coast National Park.

As reported by Travel News, the R27 Gate will be closed until the 14th of June as the facility continues to undergo upgrades that began in February.

According to The South African, this means that visitors ought to use an alternative route to enter the park. As such, all guests will be redirected to the Langebaan Gate, located along the northern boundary of the park.

The West Coast National Park will be open for visitors from the Western Cape.

The gate upgrade will include enhancements to traffic flow management, more efficient ticketing systems, as well as improved visitor amenities. This is part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize the park’s infrastructure.
