Infosys names Ashiss Kumar Dash as CEO designate; Salil Parekh to step down in April 2027
Infosys has named Ashiss Kumar Dash as its Chief Executive Officer-designate, setting the stage for the company veteran to take over as Managing Director and CEO in April 2027. The announcement, made alongside the company’s first-quarter FY27 results, marks one of the most significant leadership transitions at India’s second-largest IT services company.
Dash is no stranger to Infosys. A company veteran with more than three decades of experience, he has built his career across delivery, operations, financial management and large-scale client engagements, emerging as one of the company’s most senior business leaders.
Before being named CEO-designate, Dash served as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Services, Utilities, Reio spanning more than 15 industry sectors and worked with Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies on digital transformation and technology-led business strategies
His responsibilities have included driving large client relationships, overseeing business growth and helping enterprises adopt emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
Dash joined Infosys more than 30 years ago and has held leadership roles across several functions during his tenure. His experience spans technology delivery, business operations and financial management, giving him a broad understanding of the company’s business and global client base.
The appointment reflects Infosys’ preference for developing leadership internally, with several of the company’s past CEOs having risen through its ranks.
Education and global engagements
Dash graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and has also completed the Global Leadership Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Beyond Infosys, he represents the company at several international forums, including the World Economic Forum and the United Nations’ Global Investors for Sustainable Development Alliance. He also participated in the B20 Summit 2023, the business engagement group of the G20.
Dash will assume leadership at a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping the global technology services industry. Infosys has positioned AI as a central pillar of its growth strategy, investing in AI-powered platforms, enterprise transformation services and workforce upskilling to meet rising client demand.
Following his appointment, Dash said he intends to build on Infosys’ AI strategy, deepen client relationships and accelerate innovation as businesses increasingly adopt AI-driven technologies.
He is expected to work closely with current Managing Director and CEO Salil Parekh over the coming months to ensure a smooth leadership transition before formally taking charge in April 2027.
