- The GX has secured more than 4,000 orders across the Middle East and Africa, including 800 in the UAE.
- Xpeng plans to expand its Middle East and Africa presence to more than 20 countries and regions in 2027, with over 100 sales and service outlets.
Xpeng’s (NYSE: XPEV) GX and G9L flagship SUVs have each gone on sale in 11 countries across the Middle East and Africa, as the company uses extended-range technology to accelerate its overseas expansion.
The models were introduced in Dubai on November 2 and are now available for pre-order, the company said in a statement released on Tuesday. The event also marked the GX’s overseas debut.
In the UAE, the GX Flagship Edition is priced at AED 299,000 ($81,410), while the G9L has a pre-sales starting price of AED 259,000. The company did not disclose specific delivery dates in the statement.
The launch moves Xpeng’s previously announced Middle East roll-out into the sales phase. On October 27, the company said the models would debut in the region the following week, when local pricing would be announced.
The 2 models have slightly different launch markets. Both are available in 10 countries: the UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan and Nigeria.
The GX is also launching in Egypt, while the G9L is also launching in Ghana. Xpeng said the GX had secured more than 4,000 orders across the Middle East and Africa ahead of initial deliveries, including 800 in the UAE.
Both flagship SUVs feature Xpeng’s Kunpeng Range Extender technology, designed to address the Middle East’s long driving distances, extreme heat and varying charging infrastructure.
Xpeng cites a maximum combined NEDC range of 1,210 kilometers (752 miles). The extended-range system features an 800V architecture and 5C fast-charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 10.7 minutes.
The GX is positioned as a 6-seat flagship SUV focused on comfort, privacy and space, while the G9L emphasizes family travel and outdoor activities, with a flexible 3-row seating layout.
The product roll-out comes alongside an expansion of Xpeng’s regional network. The company plans to enter all 6 Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets by the end of this year.
Xpeng announced new distribution agreements with Auto Sales in Kuwait and Mohsin Automobiles LLC in Oman, supporting its expansion across the Gulf region.
Over the next 1 year, the company also plans to introduce 6 new models in the Middle East in a synchronized roll-out with China, accelerating the expansion of its local lineup.
For after-sales support, Xpeng said it has achieved full cross-regional warranty coverage across the GCC and Levant, with plans to extend the service to North Africa in 2027.
The company’s central spare-parts warehouse in Dubai can deliver parts to service centers in as little as 24 hours, supporting its growing regional sales network.
The Middle East and Africa launches continue the recent overseas expansion of Xpeng’s flagship models. The G9L previously launched in Europe as a battery electric vehicle and in Hong Kong in 6-seat and 7-seat extended-range all-wheel-drive versions.
Overseas business is providing greater support for Xpeng’s sales. The company delivered a record 13,326 vehicles overseas in October, up 166% year-on-year, accounting for 26.53% of its total deliveries that month
