Newly launched Zenix Aerospace is preparing for its next phase of expansion after bringing together a collection of specialist manufacturing businesses under a single global operating model.
Speaking to Aerospace Global News at the Farnborough International Airshow, Group CEO Scott McLarty said the company’s existing operations represented a foundation for further growth rather than its finished form.
“We really have an ambitious plan to grow,” McLarty said. “This is a foundation for growth. It’s not the end game. We’re going to go further, and we really want to be a global player in the industry.”
What is Zenix Aerospace?
Zenix Aerospace was formed from the former aerostructures businesses of Senior plc, which were acquired by funds managed by Sullivan Street Partners.
Launched as an independent group in January 2026, Zenix brings together specialist aerospace manufacturing operations with a heritage stretching back more than 80 years. Its footprint extends across the UK, US, Malaysia and Thailand.
The group manufactures complex components and structures from materials including titanium, Inconel and aluminium. Its products are used across aircraft engines, fuselages, wings and engine pylons, with the company concentrating particularly on difficult-to-manufacture and mission-critical parts.
According to McLarty, the group has now emerged from an initial six-month transition period and is examining how it can build upon the capabilities contained within its existing businesses.
“We’ve bought some very capable businesses and have things we want to do with those businesses,” he explained. “We’ve now reached the stage where we’re looking to grow and exploring how we can build upon the capabilities we already have.”
‘One Zenix’ connects global manufacturing sites
A central part of that strategy is the company’s “One Zenix” operating model, intended to make its collection of previously independent businesses function as a single global supplier.
Each site retains its own specialist capabilities and operates as a centre of excellence. However, customers can approach Zenix through one entry point, with the group deciding how work should be distributed across its international network.
“What we’re trying to do is bring them together as one global team providing one solution,” McLarty said.
Combining capabilities from several sites could allow Zenix to deliver higher-level integrated packages rather than individual components, he added. It could also help the company respond more quickly to customer requirements and take responsibility for solving more complex manufacturing challenges.
Aerospace growth creates demand for reliable suppliers
Zenix is targeting opportunities across commercial aerospace, defence and space, with all three markets experiencing rising demand.
While aircraft manufacturers and other major aerospace companies require additional industrial capacity, McLarty argued that capacity alone is insufficient. Suppliers must also deliver consistently against demanding quality, safety and scheduling requirements.
“There is a need for capacity, but there is also a need for reliable suppliers,” he said. “Our mission is really about being that supplier of choice, being a trusted partner and a solution provider.”
McLarty said the company’s management team has more than 100 years of combined industry experience and wants to create the kind of supplier its members had previously sought while running other aerospace businesses.
“Our word is our bond,” he said. “When we talk about the One Zenix brand, it means that we deliver quality, safety and on time. That is the bond we make with our customers, and we stand by our reputation.”
Zenix makes Farnborough debut
Farnborough 2026 provided Zenix with an opportunity to introduce its new identity to customers, partners and the wider aerospace industry only months after the group’s formal launch.
“The Farnborough International Airshow is the place to do business. Everyone is here,” McLarty concluded.
“This is certainly not the end. It’s the beginning of a growth journey, and these are exciting times.”
