Disbandment Order Delayed Justice, Says Harrison
Harrison revealed that the instruction to shut down the PKTT had serious consequences, including slowing down the progress of crucial cases. She noted that the removal of case dockets from the task team directly hampered ongoing prosecutions.
“In fact, …the directive to disband it and the removal of dockets delayed prosecutions,” the Commission heard.

The KZN NPA head expressed concern that she had not been notified of the decision to dissolve the task team, even though her office had been tasked with handling prosecutions linked to its investigations.
Harrison emphasized that her lack of inclusion in the process undermined the coordinated efforts of prosecutors and investigators.
“Harrison was not informed of the directive, despite leading a prosecutorial team designated to the PKTT,” the Commission was told.
