Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalić has praised Ghana’s defensive organisation and attacking threat ahead of their crucial FIFA World Cup Group L encounter, insisting the Black Stars are capable of punishing any lapse despite often adopting a defensive approach

Speaking before Saturday’s decisive showdown, Dalić highlighted Ghana’s disciplined displays against England and Panama, noting that Carlos Queiroz’s side remained dangerous on the counterattack

“Ghana are a team that played with a low block against England and Panama, yet still created two and three clear chances,” Dalić said

The Croatian manager believes his players must remain patient in possession while being alert to Ghana’s pace in transition, warning that the Black Stars have already shown they can create quality opportunities even when spending long periods without the ball

His comments underline the respect Croatia have for the four-time African champions, who have impressed defensively during the tournament. Ghana held England to a goalless draw after defeating Panama 1-0, leaving Group L finely poised heading into the final round of matches

With qualification to the knockout stage already gotten but now fighting for position on the group table, Dalić expects another tactically disciplined performance from Ghana and has urged his side to be clinical while avoiding being caught on the break

Saturday’s clash promises to be a tense battle, with both nations knowing that a positive result could boost their morale going into the next stage
