Morocco are through to the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup following their 3-0 win over co-hosts Canada at Houston Stadium on Saturday
FIFA WORLD CUP: MOROCCO TO FACE FRANCE IN THE QUARTERFINALS
After a tense first half, Morocco upped the ante immediately after the restart with Azzedine Ounahi opening the scoring in the 50th minute
Canada then tried to take the game to Morocco but the African team was having none of it as they defended with all they had
At the same time, Morocco did not just sit back and soak up the pressure but they also attacked in patches
Ounahi then doubled the lead in the 82nd minute, and thus, putting the game beyond Canada’s reach
There was still time for Morocco to get a third goal, and it came through Soufiane Rahimi who sent the crowd wild with his strike
Brahim Diaz provided two assists on the night as he proved once again that he is Morocco’s most influential attacker

Now, the win means Morocco will face France in the quarterfinals of this year’s FIFA World Cup next week Thursday
France advanced with a narrow 1-0 win over Paraguay on the night, thanks to Kylian Mbappe’s 70th minute penalty
Mbappe, with his seventh of the tournament, took his overall FIFA World Cup goalscoring tally to 19
