    The Nigerian Communications
Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) have reiterated
their commitment to strengthening collaboration to advance digital
broadcasting, satellite communications and digital inclusion across Africa.

    The commitment was
highlighted during a working visit by the Director-General and Chief Executive
Officer of the African Union of Broadcasting, Gregoire Ndjaka, to NIGCOMSAT
headquarters in Abuja, where he was received by NIGCOMSAT Managing Director and
Chief Executive Officer Jane Egerton-Idehen and her management team.

    The visit provided an
opportunity for the AUB delegation to tour NIGCOMSAT’s satellite infrastructure
and gain insight into the company’s technical capabilities and digital
solutions supporting Nigeria’s communications and broadcasting sectors.

    Discussions also reviewed
progress in Nigeria’s Digital Switch Over programme, which is expanding access
to digital television services and improving the availability of quality
broadcasting for communities across the country.

    The two organisations
underscored the importance of continued investment in satellite technology and
strategic partnerships to strengthen Africa’s broadcasting ecosystem and
    accelerate digital inclusion.

    They noted that enhanced
cooperation between satellite operators and broadcasting institutions will be
critical to expanding connectivity, improving access to information and
supporting socio-economic development across the continent.

    NIGCOMSAT reaffirmed its
commitment to leveraging its satellite assets and technical expertise to
deliver innovative communications solutions that connect people, support
industries and contribute to Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
