The three projects bring together interdisciplinary research on irregular migration in Europe, examining living and working conditions, access to rights and welfare, labour market dynamics, public attitudes and governance responses at EU and national levels. Drawing on comparative evidence, they analyse how irregularity is shaped by migration, labour and social policies, and what this means for protection, inclusion and policymaking.
The conference will convene researchers, EU officials and practitioners to discuss key findings under three overarching policy questions: public attitudes and policy preferences toward irregular migrants; vulnerabilities and access to basic rights; and the role of the European Commission in responding to irregular migration. The aim is to foster evidence-based dialogue between research and policy communities.
