The event features music, food, fashion, and entertainment across two performance stages.

Livespot360 announced the headliner on Thursday, Aug. 13, through its official Instagram page. The grand opening concert kicks off at 6 p.m. local time at the Detty December Village in Lagos.

The 2026 edition brings a second stage called the Pulse Stage. Wizkid will perform on the main Festival Stage, while the new platform showcases emerging artists and breakthrough talents shaping what African music becomes.

“African music has never been more influential globally, and we believe our festivals should reflect that ambition,” Darey Art Alade, co-founder and chief creative officer of Livespot360, told Billboard. “The introduction of the Pulse Stage is particularly exciting because it gives the next generation of artists a platform to perform alongside some of the biggest names in music. That’s how ecosystems grow.”

Last year marked the official launch of Detty December Fest, which drew more than 40,000 festivalgoers. The lineup featured Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Shenseea, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Phyno, Wande Coal, Fave, Young John, Qing Madi, Ice Prince, Jux, and Wizkid.

The appearance marks a return to the stage for the “Essence” singer after a quiet year. In January, he released the joint EP Real, Vol. 1 with Asake. He has since focused on collaborations with Vybz Kartel, Odeal, Jorja Smith, Tyla, and Ayra Starr.

His track “Gimme Dat” with Ayra Starr earned a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards. His 2024 album Morayo reached No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.

Detty December festivities generated an estimated ₦396.5 billion, or nearly $3 million USD, in consumer spending across Lagos, according to the MO Africa Company Detty December Report. Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council set up a presidential task force on Detty December ahead of last year’s celebration to coordinate inter-agency support and strengthen tourism during the festive season.

So, what about tickets? There are a range available. General Access offers entry into the festival, including access to music performances, food courts, and the marketplace. The Golden Circle ticket provides the same access while placing attendees closer to the stage.

VIP Standing provides access to a dedicated standing area close to the bars but does not include seating. Tickets are available on the event’s official website.

Additional headliners will be announced in the coming weeks. Partnership and hospitality opportunities are available through the organizers.
