Egypt, recognized as the second-richest economy in <a href="https://absafricatv.com/workshop-on-green-technology-transfer-in-south-africa/” title=”Workshop on Green Technology Transfer in South Africa”>Africa by nominal gross domestic product, has delivered another massive shipment of humanitarian relief to the conflict-torn Gaza Strip. On September 7, 2026, the Egyptian Red Crescent coordinated the dispatch of trucks transporting more than 3,324 tons of crucial supplies.

    • Egypt, Africa’s second-largest economy by GDP, sent over 3,324 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza on September 7, 2026.
    • This shipment included food, flour, medical supplies, medicines, and crucial petroleum products for hospitals and public facilities.
    • The Egyptian Red Crescent has coordinated these operations, dispatching aid to Gaza for over 273 days since October 2023.
    • Meanwhile, Israel has prepared plans to expel Palestinians from Gaza, awaiting U.S. approval, but faces opposition.

This delivery took place on the 273rd day of its ongoing aid convoy operations. The organization stated that the cargo consisted of food baskets, flour, medical supplies, and medicines.

The shipment also carried petroleum products, which are desperately needed to power hospitals and other essential public facilities in the territory.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has been leading these critical logistics, serving as the “national mechanism for coordinating and dispatching aid to Gaza since October 2023“.

Over the course of the crisis, the group has successfully mobilized thousands of volunteers and maintained steady operations.

Prior to this shipment, Business Insider Africa reported that the organization had dispatched its 268th convoy, named “Zad Al-Izza… From Egypt to Gaza.“

During this humanitarian move, over 62,500 food baskets, 463 tons of medical and relief supplies, and nearly 1,874 tons of vital petroleum products was transported to Gaza.

This continuous pipeline of food, fuel, and medicine remains a lifeline for families struggling to survive under devastating circumstances.

As these aid deliveries continue, geopolitical tensions are escalating over the future of the Palestinian population.

Few days ago, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that the country has finalized comprehensive strategies to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

According to reports from Business Insider Africa, Israel Katz stated that “Israel has fully prepared plans to expel the Palestinian population from the Gaza Strip”.

However, these proposed plans are currently“awaiting only U.S. approval before they can be carried out”.

The controversial proposal has already faced sharp international pushback, as both “China and Egypt have publicly opposed the proposal”.
