Nollywood faith-based film Agbara Nla: The Return has generated more than N71 million from single-day preview screenings ahead of its official cinema release.
According to Nigerian Box Office, the film recorded N70 million from 12,134 admissions during its preview period between September 25 and October 1.
The performance is the biggest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa.
With 12,134 admissions, Agbara Nla: The Return recorded the highest first-day admissions figure in 2026, while its N70 million gross is the biggest first-day gross recorded for a Nollywood title.
The film also recorded the highest single-day gross for a movie in October, according to the box-office platform.
Distributor The Nile Entertainment had earlier described the performance as the biggest first-day gross for a Nollywood title and the biggest opening for a faith-based film.
The new production is a modern reimagining of the 1993 classic, which was created by Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye and later released in English as The Ultimate Power.
Set in the fictional village of Muwonleru, the story follows two believers, Olaboye and Olatomi, who leave their city lives to take the Christian message to the community, leading to a conflict with the powerful herbalist Isawuru.
Mike Bamiloye reprises his role as Isawuru, while Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua Bamiloye directed the new production.
