Dynamos extends Osward Mutapa’s contract until 2029

Power Dynamos Football Club is delighted to announce that Head Coach Osward Mutapa has extended his contract with the Club until December 2029.
The new agreement secures the services of Coach Mutapa as the Zambian champions continue building on a period of sustained success under his leadership.
Speaking during the contract extension ceremony earlier today, Club President, Benny Simukoko, said the Club is proud to continue with Coach Mutapa.
“Yes, all Power Dynamos contracts are performance-based, including that of the coach. We are proud to continue working with him.Additionally, we have goals as a Club and we believe Coach Mutapa is the man to help us achieve these goals, Mr. Simukoko said.
In his remarks, Coach Mutapa expressed gratitude for the continued faith from management and supporters.
“I am honoured to extend my stay at this great Club until 2029. We have achieved a lot together, but there is still more to do. Our target is to sustain success, compete on the continent, and bring more trophies to our fans,” he said.
Since taking charge, Coach Mutapa has transformed the team and delivered impressive results.
He guided Power Dynamos to back-to-back MTN Super League titles in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons, marking the Club’s return to dominance in Zambian football.
On the continental stage, he led the team to the Group Stage of the Confederation of African(CAF) Champions League, a milestone that reaffirmed Power Dynamos’ status among Africa’s elite clubs.
Domestically, he also steered the Club to the ABSA Cup final, further showcasing his impact in cup competitions. Power Dynamos wishes Coach Mutapa continued success.
