German industrial group Deltec has officially confirmed its establishment in Tunisia following the acquisition of Cicor’s production site in Borj Cédria, with an ambitious expansion plan expected to generate more than 500 new jobs in the coming years.
The announcement came at the conclusion of a high-level visit to Tunisia from July 14 to 17, led by Deltec Group CEO Carsten Ellermeier at the head of a senior delegation. Accompanied by Tunisia’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia), the German executive met with key stakeholders involved in supporting the investment project.
First industrial footprint outside Germany
This marks Deltec Group’s first production facility outside its home market of Germany. The company aims to transform Tunisia into a regional industrial hub to support its <a href="https://absafricatv.com/zhang-financial-llc-increases-stake-in-international-business-machines-corporation-ibm/” title=”Zhang Financial LLC Increases Stake in International Business Machines Corporation $IBM”>international growth in the electronic solutions sector.
The Borj Cédria site, which previously employed between 90 and 100 workers, was acquired as part of a restructuring operation by Swiss group Cicor. The transaction amount was approximately €1.3 million. Cicor had decided to divest its Tunisian operations to refocus its North African presence on Morocco.
State-of-the-art expansion planned
According to a FIPA-Tunisia statement, Deltec plans to establish a new state-of-the-art production unit covering more than 10,000 square meters. This industrial expansion will significantly boost the Tunisian site’s production capacity and is expected to result in the creation of over 500 additional jobs.
The acquisition preserves existing industrial activity while opening a new phase of investment, strengthening Tunisia’s position in international electronics value chains.
