National Committee for International Humanitarian Law Participates in Symposium on Multilateral Humanitarian Action in Morocco
Rabat, July 19 (QNA) – The National Committee for International Humanitarian Law participated in the International Legal Symposium organized by Morocco’s National Committee on International Humanitarian Law under the theme “Multilateral Humanitarian Action at a Crossroads: Challenges and Issues.”
The Committee’s delegation was headed by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law Chairman Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi.
The symposium brought together representatives from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) delegation, the Assistant United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the Special Adviser for Humanitarian Operations at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), along with a distinguished group of experts and specialists in the field of international humanitarian law.
The symposium discussed the key challenges facing humanitarian action, including the role of the international community in supporting field humanitarian operations, the challenges associated with humanitarian work in situations of forced displacement, and the broader obstacles confronting the international humanitarian system. The discussions aimed to produce practical, actionable recommendations that would facilitate humanitarian efforts.
On the sidelines of the symposium, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law Chairman Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi held a meeting with HE President of the Moroccan National Committee on International Humanitarian Law, Dr. Farida El Khamlichi
During the meeting, the two sides explored ways to strengthen legal partnerships and identify new opportunities for enhanced cooperation, with the aim of advancing both countries’ efforts in the fields of international humanitarian law and humanitarian action. (QNA)
