On 20 July 2026, a regular meeting of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the results of the Commission’s activities for the first half of 2026 and discussed key issues related to further improving the implementation of Turkmenistan’s initiatives and commitments within the framework of its <a href="https://absafricatv.com/seoul-says-cooperation-with-nato-aimed-at-global-peace-seeks-stable-relations-with-russia/” title=”Seoul says cooperation with NATO aimed at global peace, seeks stable relations with Russia”>cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The participants emphasized the importance of consistently strengthening cooperation with UNESCO aimed at enhancing international collaboration in the fields of education, science, culture, the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and the promotion of Turkmenistan’s national values on the international stage.
Particular attention was given to expanding cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) following Turkmenistan’s official acquisition of observer state status within the Organization. The discussion also focused on promising areas and mechanisms for further cooperation with ICESCO.
During the meeting, priority tasks for further strengthening Turkmenistan’s international cooperation with leading international organizations were identified, and key areas of work for the upcoming period were outlined.
