Sophomores Nairobi United <a href="https://absafricatv.com/fifa-destroying-football-for-the-world-cup-says-spanish-football-chief/” title=”FIFA ‘destroying football’ for the World Cup, says Spanish football chief”>Football Club will gun for the Kenya Premier League title in their second season after an impressive debut where they finished fourth last season.

Despite a lackluster expedition in the CAF Confederations Cup in which they failed to win a single match in Group B, the “naibois” held out for an impressive fourth finish, a feat head coach Osborne Monday feels will help them challenge for the topflight title.

“We expect a better season compared to the one we had in the concluded season, the team is continuing with immense preparations that will help us carry ourselves and be better than next season as we expect some good stuff next season.”

Monday also said that the Nairobi based club will aim for a higher position finish and eye a Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League spot.

“We finished fourth in the previous season and that is a very good achievement for us as a team but we will target a better position as well as work towards making it to the CAF Champions League.”

The tactician also added that in preparation for a better season, Nairobi United is aim to strengthen the team with more signings.

“The season will of course not be easy for anyone us included, so as a club we are working on the squad strength. We have some players who are coming in to at least bring a new strength and more experience to the team.” he added.

Nairobi United are currently holding their pre-season training sessions ahead of the upcoming Kenya Premier League season expected to commence from 22nd August.
