Amajor celebration of African creativity is in the offing, as TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) holds in Lagos from November 18-19, 2026.

With the theme: ‘The Spark: Igniting the African Economy Through Stage Craft’, this year’s TheatreMania Africa offers a vibrant blend of live performances, heritage fashion show and interactive arts across two premier Lagos locations.

Kicking off on Wednesday, November 18 amidst the lush greenery of Shodex Gardens in Ilupeju, the pan-African event will feature dynamic street theatres, interactive arts and brand exhibitions, community-centered walk for peace and Africa Rise Against Malaria (ARAM) advocacy, demonstrating how art seamlessly integrates with community life.

The following day, the curtain opens at the prestigious Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos. The day’s schedule will parade activities such as Veteran Fireside Conversation Spotlight, Generation Next Theatre (GNT) showcase, Masterclasses led by industry gurus, and breathtaking Command Performances that feature the artistic depth of the continent.

Sharing his enthusiasm for the cultural synergy of the 2026 edition, Alayande Stephen, CEO/co-Founder of TAF, said: “African art and storytelling possess an unmatched vitality. Through ‘The Spark’, we are igniting a renewed passion for live stage performances, while showing how our cultural output can captivate audiences globally and build a thriving creative economy right here at home.”

Reflecting on the cultural continuity of the festival, Dr. Akin Lewis, Chairman, TAF Board of Trustees (BOT), submitted:

“Our rich tradition of stagecraft is the bedrock of contemporary African entertainment. TAF 2026 honours the icons who built this foundation while creating space for fresh, modern expressions that reflect where our vibrant culture is heading next.”

A major highlight of the festival is Africa Theatre Fashion & Pageantry Show tagged: ‘The Metallic’, organised in conjunction with Showbiz Afrika, merging theatrical costume design with high fashion. The event will round off with the #Theatre4PeaceAfrica campaign and a star-studded Gala and Award Nite, celebrating excellence in African stage craft.

Already, registration is open to stakeholders and participants to be part of the 3rd edition of TAF
