Washington D.C. – In a heartfelt Christmas message, Chris Anu, leader of the Interim Government of Ambazonia reached out to the people with words of hope, courage, and solidarity. Amidst the ongoing struggles faced by Ambazonians—ranging from displacement and imprisonment to the challenges of the armed conflict—Anu’s message served as both a reflection on their trials and a reassurance of brighter days ahead.
“This is the season when the world pauses to celebrate the birth of Christ, the embodiment of hope and redemption,” Anu began. He extended warm Christmas wishes to all Ambazonians, particularly acknowledging the plight of refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and political prisoners. He expressed deep sorrow for those enduring harsh conditions during what should be a season of joy and peace, emphasizing that their sacrifices are not forgotten.
“My heart aches for the children who cannot sing Christmas carols in peace or open gifts with their families,” he said, while affirming that their resilience and sacrifices are “engraved in the heart of Ambazonia.”
Anu reserved special gratitude for the Ambazonia Restoration Forces (ARF), describing them as the “trusted, courageous defenders” of the liberation movement. He lauded their bravery and resilience in preventing the enemy from declaring victory. “Because of you, Ambazonia still stands unbowed, and our hope for freedom remains alive,” he stated, urging them to remain vigilant and steadfast in the face of daily uncertainties.
Acknowledging the absence of ABS TV on the airwaves this month, Anu reassured supporters that the channel, often described as the voice of Ambazonia, would soon return. “Your steadfast support ensures we can keep this channel alive, even against the odds,” he said, promising to deliver a New Year’s Eve address on the state of Ambazonia’s quest for freedom. He hinted at significant developments behind the scenes that would be shared during the upcoming address.
Anu’s message carried a strong spiritual undertone, drawing parallels between the Christmas story and Ambazonia’s current plight. “When the world was lost, broken, and without hope, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem humanity. Just as He did then, He will do for Ambazonia too,” he declared, assuring his people that their fight for freedom is just and that divine intervention will lead to eventual victory.
He closed with an inspiring message of resilience, urging Ambazonians to take courage and remain steadfast. “There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Our morning is coming, and when it does, joy will be ours, and the world will marvel at the resilience of Ambazonia.”
The statement concluded with anticipation for Anu’s New Year’s Eve address, where he is expected to outline the challenges and opportunities facing the Ambazonian struggle in 2025. For now, his Christmas message stands as a rallying cry for hope, unity, and determination as Ambazonia continues its fight for liberation.
