ADES Holding Wins Jack-Up Rig Contracts in Nigeria and UK North Sea | July 2026 – News and Statistics

ADES Holding Secures Multi-Million-Dollar Contracts for Jack-Up Rigs in Africa and Europe

ADES Holding Company, a drilling services provider within the Saudi Arabia-based ADES Group, has secured new multimillion-dollar contracts for two jack-up rigs operating in Africa and Europe.

According to the company, one contract award covers the Shelf Drilling Odyssey jack-up rig in Nigeria, where it will work for Seplat Energy Producing Nigeria, a major independent energy firm in that country. The agreement includes a firm period of two years, along with two optional extension periods of one year each, though pricing for those options has not been set. ADES stated that this award strengthens its position in the Nigerian offshore drilling market and reflects strong demand and continued activity momentum across West and Central Africa.

Separately, ADES has won a contract for the Shelf Drilling Fortress jack-up rig in the UK North Sea with an operator whose identity has not been disclosed. The deal covers two firm wells with a minimum duration of 550 days, plus two optional one-well extensions, each with a minimum duration of 275 days. Operations are expected to begin during the fourth quarter of 2026. The total contract value, which includes the firm duration, optional extensions, mobilization, and demobilization fees, is approximately SAR 483 million, equivalent to about $129 million.

ADES noted that this award reflects a healthy demand environment in the North Sea and follows a recent contract extension the company secured in the region for the Shelf Drilling Winner in the Netherlands.

These new assignments come less than a month after ADES completed a deal with Saipem to acquire Saudi Arabian Saipem (SAS), thereby expanding its jack-up fleet.
